If you had the GXL and did the swap, you already had the 4 piston

Same with the vert...the only thing I did was change the pads (hawk hps) and slotted rotors.

i upgraded my stock brakes simply for the fact that they sucked ***. now i have crossed drilled and slotted rotors all the way around and hawk pads front and rear and braided steel brake lines. they are awesome now! i have a 86 gxl, modded heavily.

Does "not yet but I've already bought five-lug wheels" count?

The stock brakes are excellent compared to most other cars I've driven in that year. Give it a chance and slap on a good set of TIRES. I had Bridgestone S03's on my old TII and they were awesome.

best idea. tires determine how fast you stop, not your brakes. if your stock brakes can lock up your wheels, then they are more then adequate.

i did the swap on my 91 coupe so i already had the big baller brakes. however i can barely get my tires to lockup (i also have pretty crappy front tires) so i think i need to bleed the lines and get some slotted rotors and upgrade the pads
