please identify this beep

when you put the key on ACC it starts making a long solid beeeeeep under the dash. sounds like the PS computer but no pauses and its not a buzz. no warning lights pop on. i just bought the car for $300 and am trying to see if i can get it running.

Isn't that the normal "you left your keys in" or "you left your lights on" beep?

its a beep, not a buzz. its not the redline/shift up/oil/coolent buzzer. its coming from the PS computer it sounds like. the "you left your keys in" "the lights are on" beep has a pause in it if i remember correctly. this is just a loud solid beeeeeeeeeep.

i plugged a warning cluster up to it and nothing bad lights up. the warning buzzer will not activate without the cluster installed anyway.

car is an 87 sport so no security system is installed. guages are properly connected. volt meter reads 14 volts.

Are you sure all of your warning lights are working? Does the beeeeeeeeeeeeep stop when you turn the key to "on"?

doest stop when the key is turned to START. the clock flickers though so I take it the IGN switch is working by this. the cluster is good. it came from my good car.
