Please help Stuck throttle
Please help
Aright, so the night starts out beautifuly. My girlfriend calls me and tells me to pick her up as fast as i can, so i go and do that, she was having family trouble. so we go out driving just to get her away for awhile. well, while driving we come across a probe gt with a guy riding solo. i didnt plan on racing cuz she was with me so i just take off slowly. Well he gets on it so i do i couldnt help my self, she gets scared and i let off. well he starts toyin with me and we go from a roll and we go to about 110 and shes about to **** herself. so i apologize profusely and shes still mad when we get back to her house. well i follow her rampage in and apologize some more just not working then i spot some pics of this dude she went to prom with (i wasnt very happy about this) i left and as i was leaving i got on it hard in reverse and when i went to shift into first the car reved itself to 7k and wouldnt stop so i turned it off took a look at the throttle linkage and nothing was wrong so i took a look at my afm and nothing was abnormal. I cant figure out what the hell is wrong... need some help, sorry about the venting at the beginning.

well i played with the throttle and heard a pop and now it idles at 3.5-4k still clueless i cleaned all electrical contacts that have to do with air or fuel and nothing has brought the idle down anyfurther... any more ideas...i just got my new lsd in and i wanna experiment some more. but, i am waiting for the new halfshafts so this will take up the time in between, however nervewracking it is.

Seriously though, sounds like you need to pull the TB off, inspect, clean. Verify the throttle cable freely moves, etc..

icemark-thanks, for the ideas...i was having a bad night and was a little...ah... frustrated. though i dont think i post like a neanderthal maybe i do but i assure you my intelligence is above that of an ape. thanks again though. yes, the car is still reving high but i have managed to lower it by temporarly disabling the cruise control that was the most significant drop. brought it down to 2.5 3k most of the time. i will be taking vaughnc's advice and i will be pulling the tb off and inspecting it tommarow as i didnt have time today at work. hopefully when i put it back on it will fix the problem. thanks to everyone who has tried to help.
