PLEASE HELP ME! my fuel door won't open and I need gas pretty soon!

I got a 1988 FC and this is a problem. I was wondering if anybody knew how to fix it, or at least open the fuel door.

I tried pulling the latch and my wife trying to open the door, but that didn't work. I got to open it once in my garage and I thought it wasn't a big deal so I closed it back up. Now it won't open.

Is there any other way to open the fuel door. Help!

haha I already tried that..I chip some the paint. I didn't want to put too much force into opening that door.

Must be a cable hooked to the door lever from the lever inside of the car. Try to find it and pull on it. Thats all i can think of.

Open the hatch and peel the carpet back from the wall w/ the filler. You will see a little mechanism with a cable attached to it.... personally I just took it off cuz my door didn't have any spring to it sanymore so even pulling it it wouldn't open.

If this is a coupe there is an emergency release inside the car, at the gas door. Pull back the access panel and reach in and release the door.

Don't you guys (and girls) ever read your owners manual??? Come on... basic owners manual stuff here.

I never have read the owners manual. I probably should read it though, since I didn't know about the fuel door having an emergency release. Thanks guys

I just bought this car about 2 weeks ago..Its my first RX7..So far I'm enjoying the car. When I test drove it, I was like..what is that noise. haha. I've never driven one before..except the rx8.
