I think the tube is the resonator. You can take this thing out if you have a cone filter.

If it was on the airbox (will have hose clamps), it's the one that goes into the air pump. There are 2 more on the BIG rubber accordian hose. One goes to the BAC and the other goes down below the intake plenum.

Must be the air pump because the higher i rev the motor the more suction it produces. And it is NOT one of the ones that are connected to the BIG acordian looking hose. It is the one at tha back side of the air box. It does have a pinch type hose clamp. I belive you are correct about the air pump but what do i do with it now? Should i just pull the air pump? Will i gain anything or will it hurt anything?

See all the little hoses running around your engine? The airpump puts either pressure or vaccum to them....

Things like your 6-ports and VDI (which gives you like 20 more hp ) are controlled by it. Better idea to keep it. The only thing that'll happen is dirty air will flow through that system. The clamped hose is BEFORE the mass air flow sensor, so there is no abundance/shortage of air.

You'll be fine KEEP the airpump.

I have an S5 just like you.

See sig.

-I haven't dont that, but the only reason it goes to the airbox is so that it gets FILTERED air. Maybe you can cut a small piece of filter from your old square box and clamp it on the end of the hose (other end will be in airpump). That way it'll get the filtered air it needs .

It's the stock Harbor Blue (code 5D). It's the color in the original pic there.

For that loose hose that leads to the pump, yo uneed to go to the local shitty import store, and buy one of those $10 mini filters that are designed for piston engines, and put it on the hose. That tube was filtered for a reason, Keep it filtered.

The hose you refer to is the intake for the air pump. It needs filtered air. You can find a motorcycle type air filter for it.

Bdoty311, which K&N did you get? I got the AFI one, and it has a tube on the back of it to plug that hose into it.
Ahhhh the beauty of Photoshop! That program is the best.

yep a nice little filter will fix that prob right there. It also makes the engine bay look alittle neater.
