Sorry for the confusion. I'm not using the EOMP either way. I had been premixing, I'll keep doing that. I'm hoping they pulled the tension bolt after pulling the engine for some reason and it wasn't actually ran in this condition. Considering how little effort it takes to install/remove from car, and the price of a rebuild, I still think it's worth throwing in there and trying to start.

This suggests that the 13b/GSL-SE front cover will NOT work with a S5 oil pan, due to different lengths? Looks like I'm swapping the front cover after all...

bingo... you need the s5 or s4 timing cover ( OMP deleted ) and s4/5 sump
,, water pump doesnt matter if you have no eomp fitted


PS
remember to use silicon around the bolt holes through the sump
