anyone know what kind of plastic its made out of??

Polypropylene is common in plastic car parts. That would be my guess.

ya gonna sand and paint, the welder was messing up halfway through so i had to use a torch.

TIIs have an aluminum throttle body horn, NAs are plastic.

I've personally never been thrilled with the plastic adapters in turbo applications. They get quite soft.

i use an n/a plastic elbow in my turbo application but i never butchered it like that, granted i shortened the oil filler tube to accomodate the new piping direction and sealed the elbow to the throttle body with sealant. it doesn't leak any if at all, not as bad as some people make it seem. the stock IAT sensor on the other hand that i tapped into it, leaks a bit through the internal terminals..

i wouldn't trust plastic welding to be solid, i bet if you do a leakdown test you will see it has hundreds of tiny pinholes leaking air.
