planning to take cat out...consequences?

OK im gonna get rid of my cats... put hi flow muffler shop ones, how is it gonna affect my reliability do i have to do anything else, reroute hose or somthing? Is my milage gonna go down even more?

i took out all 3 and ran 2.5" from manifold back with duals and have better gas millage but make sure your going to have enough backpressure for 5/6 ports. mine didnt work before so i wasnt worried about it. it is going to be extremely loud! get some silencers for mufflers

Well it will free up hp but be aware that that muffler or whatever you add in will probably be junk after a month.

The exhaust heat and pulses will tear apart regular mufflers and cats.

That's why racing beat uses steel wool instead of glass pack stuff.

Yea rotary's exhaust temps are higher then most other cars, so thats why we use special cats .

keep your cats if you are from a state that requires smog checks every two years....like my good 'ol CA.

I'm from FL and i'm gonna try putting single muffler , 2.5" and a Tanabe Hyper Spec muffler, hopefully its a good enough muffler that it'll last without being too loud

Dude, trade them to me, My car came from florida with a "Modified" exhaust setup, I can send you pics if you like. I am still planning on posting this later cause I need the stuff to pass emissions here in VA.

screw it i just got 2 1/4" straight piping no muffler, although im gonna put one on.
