I didn't have to use an airgun to get it loose. I simply put a crow-bar in the flywheel. I just removed the top flywheel cover (back of the engine, two bolts, thin flimzy thing) and stuck it in there, the flywheel will catch it, and from there I just used a 2 1/8" socket with a breaker bar, and me and another guy standing on it, and it came loose rather easily.
