how is it that you checked through the port to see if the apex seals are there are they easily visible or are they fairly difficult to see?

I hope you have some hefty air tools to break that bitch loose. I wnded up having to drive to two different garages with the engine in the back of my jeep, until finally going to the mazda dealership and have them remove the bolt.

The first two places didn't have strong enough air guns.

I didn't have to use an airgun to get it loose. I simply put a crow-bar in the flywheel. I just removed the top flywheel cover (back of the engine, two bolts, thin flimzy thing) and stuck it in there, the flywheel will catch it, and from there I just used a 2 1/8" socket with a breaker bar, and me and another guy standing on it, and it came loose rather easily.

my flywheel was off just two months ago. it shouldn't be too hard to remove. i'm gonna goto sears and buy a 2 1/8 socket tomorow

i just got one too. got my flywheel off in 10 mins. now to get the counterweight and front eshaft bolt off......
