Pineapple Juice on my 2nd gen finally finished.
Well, I have a bunch of pictures that I was going to put up showing my new secret weapon. However, seems as though the forum won't let me upload em. So if anyone would like to host some pictures please PM me, or e-mail me at pp13bnos@aol.com
Anyyyyywayss....I recently picked up a nitrous system for dirt cheap. I'm not going to say how much, but lets just say that I'm into the entire system right around $300. This includes the bottle, 14ft nitrous line, bolth solenoids, fuel pressure regulator, all the stainless steel lines, fuel pump, switchs, extra jets, foggers...etc. Ohh...with a full bottle.
I spent about 8hrs on the install, all together. I decided to do it right the first time. What I did was put anouther pickup in the gas tank just for the nitrous system. Then I ran 3/8" line into my 90gph fuel pump, and 3/8" steel fuel line upto the pressure regulator in engine compartment. So basically there's a fuel system just for the nitrous. I also Wired the fuel pump, so that when I hit the "arming switch" the fuel pump comes on, just to be on the safe side. There are a couple other safety switches, to make shure that things don't get turned on, by accident/someone else driving my car.
At the moment I'm only running a 75 shot. That will have to do until I take it down to the track a couple times.
At this point, when the ntirous comes on, it feels smooth, with a very healthy increase in power, according to the butt dyno.
I would realy appreiciate is someone could host some pictures for me Later, CJ

At the moment, I plan to run a 75 shot. Probably for a couple weeks or so. After that, I'm probably gonna put in a 150 shot or so. And the max I'll run is a 200 shot for the drags only. At the moment I'm running 9s in the leading and trailing. However, today I'm gonna swap in some B10EGV's just to be on the safe side. When I run the 150-200 shot, I'll run some B11EGV's with some Low Lead 100 fuel.
I'm also thinking about running some evans coolant to help reduce the heat around the spark plug hole. According to Rob@Pineapple, the Evans is so good at removing heat its like adding 1-2 points of octane. In other words, you don't get any coolant boiling around the sprak plug holes like normal coolant does.
Banzai, you're running juice too?

CJ: I sold my TII Distraction last Saturday. I am dusting off all the GFH parts and prepping for install. I am taking a mock-up block and Manifold down to Compu-Car and have a system made for it.

silverrotor, not only am I going to run this much nitrous, but i'm positive that it will live a long life. The only thing that will realy break it fast, is me grabbing traction at the drag strip. I've ran a 13B peripheral port motor/150 shot of nitrous behind a n/a 2nd gen tranny with 150k+ miles on it with no problem. What I'm most concerned about is the stock clutch and pressure plate holding up with the higher power levels. It holds just fine with the 75 shot...but the 150+ will probably be pushing it realy hard Only time will tell I guess. Later, CJ

I'll just be running my stock tires and wheels. No drag slicks or drag radials. Usually when I hit the drags, I'm looking for mostly what type of mph my car runs. But I must confess, I don't think the clutch/pp will hold up for very long. When the times comes, I'll throw a 6 puck sprung hub in there.
What I'll be shooting for this weekend is 14 flat on true street tires @100+ mph with the juice. Or a high 14@95+ mph off the bottle. Of course this is all weather dependant. One must also know, that I live in Oregon, home of the rain cloud. We'll just have to wait and see. And whatever the outcome, i'll tell everyone...even if i scatter the motor and tranny. Later, CJ

There are a couple of things that you could do to improve your system off hand. The first one that you might want to think about is rpm activate switch(you just set it and leave it alone.) The second one is this:
When you do juice it you car is going to carry some extra G's so what you could possibly do to improve the system is relocate the battery and put a small fuel cell in the front of the car with secondary fuel pump. Then the pump will not be affected by speed. I've read this on numerous sites. But its just a thought.

I don't want to relocate the battery as according to NHRA rules, anytime you move the battery, you must have a battery kill switch. Total pain in the butt. Not to mention, this was a untra cheap nitrous system. I don't want to throw extra $$ at something when I realy don't need it. I was helping a friend out when I bought it off of him. He recently lost his job, and needed a couple bucks to pay rent. I kinda wanna keep it a cheap system.
Yeah 88, I live just a couple miles away from Woodburn. I'm in either that or a black FD. I usually hang out around a bunch of mustang guys. Let me know when you'll be racing there, and I'll try to make it or something.
As far as the $600 thing. The car was'nt perfect. Has a bunch of door dings in it, one of the injectors was fried, and needed a good cleaning. The first and only owner thought the motor puked....but I did that ~6k miles later. Lost the rear rotor.
Yes, that is a scrunchy on my shifter....my wife drives the car alot too. But no nitrous for her though. She likes her 98 tacoma better...but she does say that the FC has alot more get up and go....
later guys, CJ
