Pilot bearing stuck...help

Rented the puller from Autozone and it didn't help. I did a search and read something about dremmel tool. I am going to try and get it out tommorrow. A little help would be nice. Should I drill it out?

right puller should always be best solution, if u don`t have puller, u could break it and get it out piece by piece, but carefully....

Puller the best idea. I needed to expand the jaws as tight as possible to remove the outer shell/race. I pulled the inner out first because the jaws slipped over the outer part, then tried about 10 times before it finally came out.

If you rented the tool from AutoZone, chances are you are going to have to grind it down to make it fit inside the bearing. You could also order the three-jaw puller Harbour Freight sells.

When I removed the one from my GXL, the puller was ineffective even when ground down. I had to go buy diamond point carving bits for the Dremel and make two parallel cuts all the way down the bearing. I was then able to chisel at it a bit to relieve the pressure. After all this I could finally put it out with the puller.

I couldn't get one out of a RX a few years ago... Ended up using a chisel to break it and then pull it out. As said above, you must be very careful.

Best thing to do is buy a dremel go to work ive broke 3 pullers before I figured out it wouldnt work, dont waste your time with a puller unless I believe its the one mazdatrix sells, just spend a few bucks on the dremel
