Pilot bearing oil seal question.
I just put in my new pilot bearing and am trying to install the seal that sits behind it. My problem is that the seal does not seem to want to go in all the way up against the pilot bearing. It is sitting about 1/8" away. I don't want to bang on it to hard unless that is what you have to do. Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks,
Christopher

So you put a socket up against it and tapped with a mallet? Right? Don't leave us hanging like that. What did you do? By the way, how did you get the old one out? I used a screwdriver, dremel motor and a choice set of words. Vaguely remember using the back side of a socket of the same dia and striking it until seated.
