Wow, nobody on here is rockin the SA3Rs? I thought we had some mad tyte JDM dorifto boys up in here.....

 

because SA3R's are expensive as hell even a decent used set. ive seen them go for $2k used and over $3500 new for 17x9's

not many people would drift with such an expensive rim/tire setup for drift.


an i've seen SA3R's on an FC before..... doesnt look good IMHO. SA3'S are best left on S13/14's and eg hatches

 

If I were to get aforementioned rims, I would not drift with them. and maybe I'm not thinking of the SA3R in particular.... just the Advan 3-spoke wheels in general, I would like to see on an FC

I have almost 1000 pics of FCs from several years saved on my HD and I have zero with advans...

 

not much yet, just the got the wheels last week and only got the front set of tires since it's been real rainy out. stock wheels are on some nice all-seasons so im using them to the fullest

but here's the fronts, not everyone loves the super advans.. but i sure do!




i just ordered another set with some different offsets.. im crazy

Yup, fc guys aren't the richest and many aren't the smartest.
If I had the money I would go w/ some ADVANS and actually play w/ them
Gotta remember... it's One life...

 

I have the Advan RC, the most popular but so pretty`s .......

 

Those are called "Advan Racing SA3" or "SA-3", and those gaudy-*** wheels above them are the SA3R's.

Thank you for clarifying, Ted! Is it true that Yokohama started out selling the Advan SA3, and it was eventually replaced by the SA3R?

Yes, the Advan Racing SA-3's were replaced by the SA3R's.

Yes, and I bought them off of him.
They were black centers, and I will eventually change them to white centers when I got the time to take care it.
They are currently running on a friend's Z32 right now.

I guess there really is no accounting for taste.

All I know is that back in the early and mid 90's, tri-stars were all the rage on cavaliers all over town. The only place you can find them now are on some of the mexicans' cars, at the wheel shop in Gran Turismo 2, and on some of the "budget drifters" rides.
