Nice car and nice setup! I have the same exact front mount intercooler but only i have an 87 gxl. I had to do a lot of customizing on the front end. I also live in Orlando, FL. Where exactly in Orlando are u located so maybe we can hang out one day and show these ricers around here what this is all about! Around here not many rotary fanatics like to come out and it would be cool to have a crew come along. If you want to talk, my instant messenger is sleeperrx.

yeah it is pvc (or whatever Lowes sells) have had no problem with it yet, but i am also curious. Have had it on there for more than a year with no problems and know many other people using pvc. The intercooler is the one www.rx7store.net sells like 950 i think.

SleeperRx - yeah definately we will have to get up down there. I leave this saturday. I attend UCF, live about a mile from campus. I'll pm you when i get down there.

ABS is ok... it has a higher temp limit. The pvc at temps your tid will see begins to release gas that is corrosive (sp?) and thats bad inside your engine. It will seem fine outside but is releasing toxic gas at a somewhat low temp.

aps is fine... its what the DIY write up on fc3s.org (i think thats the site) says to use.

abs is ok, pvc is bad.

Nice install.

Just a couple questions: Are you still running the stock turbo? What boost levels are you seeing? Does the boost fall off in the upper RPMs due to all that piping?

thanks!

wozzoom - hey running 8 psi without the boost controller - car spools up faster and runs a whole lot better with the FMIC and it doesn't drop any boost up until like 5.5k rpm, but thats just because stock turbo is running out of gas. With boost controller set at 9.5 it sticks there. Havent got it setup completely yet, still need to hit the dyno and tune in my 720s for 10 psi

hey rx74prez... how hot is it out there in orlando? is it any chance like cali? 100 everyday... if so how do you engine temps run with the FMIC? how about with the a/c on?? does it get hot at all sitting at a light? how about when you get on it and its a lil warm... say 90 degrees? thats the only thing im worried about with a FMIC

I kind of figured your boost would be dropping off around 4500-5000 RPM. I'm surprised you make it to 5500. Hell, with the stock IC the factory turbo starts falling off around 5500-6000.

Put a different turbo on there and you'll be cooking!

importboi22 - I am in pensacola right now heading down to Orlando this weekend and is about 90 here ran around with the a/c on no change in temp but I don't have a temp gauge so no telling the temp (yeah i know i need one but I am out of money at the moment and saving for a wideband). I got a friend that put the same FMIC on about a week before me and he said no change in engine temp (he has a gauge)
2nub_2stupid - nah it doesnt really have a name I guess it is just "My Baby"

Pensacola seems to be home to the S5 FC with Greddy FMIC. Here are some pic of mine. Sorry, no underhood shots yet.
