I believe tooling up the templates for the gauge face shapes is the complex part that costs most ofg the development money, the gaufe face color and font color as well as the font type are all options each customer usually specifies him/herself. go check out their webpage to see how they work the options on the alredy existing products, lots of room for customization within each gauge type

by the way, here's the url: http://www.speedhut.com/
just click on model development program and youl be able to read this quote:

The following cars can be pre-ordered. Once we have 20 Pre-orders we will begin tooling the car. Tooling takes approx. 4-6 weeks so hang in there! Your Credit Card is NOT charged until after we reach the 20 pre-orders. All the same options available on the web site are available for these pre-order cars below.

EACH INDIVIDUAL WILL GET TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN UNIQUE CUSTOM OPTIONS- (COLORS, FONTS, STANDARD GRAPHICS, LOGOS, ETC. AT NO ADDITIONAL COST). Once the tooling is done (4-6 weeks) we will ship them out individually to each person. We will notify each person before manufacturing their gauges to confirm their order via email or telephone.

so as you can see, yes you'l be able to choose your own colors, fonts etc, i've emailed them about duplicating as closely as possible the ones pictured in the beginning of this thread.

I'll keep you posted.

Ah okay. I would imagine they check their email on weekends (most people do). It would be pretty pimp to have a set like the 1s on the first page w/ little rotors in the center of the speedo/tach.

ok, I've finally gotten things straight with the two companies, heres where we stand.

first of all, the company that sells the gauges for the s5 emailed me and said if we want to make them for the s4, we need ONE HUNDRED ORDERS!. i dont think thats gonna happen, on to the next company.

the GOOD NEWS:
-The company that offers the "gauge development program" (speedhut.com) needs 20 orders, and I'll have to GIVE them a set of gauges to use as a template. They KEEP the gauges i send them, and make a template.
Their webpage has a model development section, that the s4 rx7 gets put on, then ANYONE can go to the site and place an order, there is no charge until all 20 orders are placed, then confirmations will be sent out to the 20 people so they can pay.
it takes about 4 weeks to make all the gauges, then they ship out as soon as theyre ready.

A few questions some of you had:

-PRICE: theyre on the expensive side, from 100-120 per set, however, theyre VERY customizeable as far as design goes.

HOW THE GAUGES LOOK: They say they can be made to look VERY similar to the stock gauges, with the graphics for the rpmx1000, oil pressure graphic, fonts, various other graphics etc very similar to stock. I'm confident i can get the comany to make them pretty much the same as the ones in the first post in this thread.

HOW CUSTOMIZEABLE WILL THEY BE?: the following things can be changed about them
-first, we can either have them REVERSE indiglo (glowing numbers) or REGUAR indiglo, where the whole face glows, but the nubmers are dark
-color of the background (face color)
-color of the numbers/font
-font style, several fonts to choose from already, maybe we can give him some new ones
-graphic behind the numbers (a rotor for instance)

so what do you guys thin, how many of you would go in with me on something like this, i'll scrifice a set of my gauges for this cause, would you guys pay 100 bucks for FULLY customizeable indigle gauges? I will if you will!

Well, I need to get a job (will have one in 4 weeks though lol). Im down for it. Can you get a set of stock gauges? There are a few rx7's here in a junk yard, I could go grab them if they still have the gauges.

I have an extra set of stock gauges that I can send them, so you dont need to go get any from a junkyard, come on guys, lets get 20 of us together and get some really good gauges.

Arpus they already make those. You can order from www.speedhut.com

The reason we are doing this is because they dont make any S4 turbo ii gauges.

They don't make an "Arpus". He was referring to me... My name is Arpus. I called speedhut, they don't have any gauges for the 89tII.

dr0x, do you know anywhere else that makes the gauges for the 89tII????
