oops, your right - 2600lbs. The mazda 6 also has a 220hp engine (not 210)

NO, YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE WEIGHT VS HP & torque ratios.

look at the torque vs torque numbers and you'll see the protege' 5 will beat any OEM civic in the straights. Plus the car is now ultra-tunable with a turbo and lower engine compression.

I'd imagine the twisties, slalom, and road courses the civic would seriously get beat.
