I'd like to know why in the hell everybody wants to sit here and bitch, and nit pick, about every little thing somebody makes for these cars. You all want to whine and complain, that nobody makes xxx part for your car, but if they did, you'd buy it in a heartbeat. Then someone goes to the immense trouble of doing so, making a quality part at a reasonable price and offering it to you, and what to you do? Sit here and say how you don't like it...carbon fiber is too expensive...it isn't an exact replica of the stock part (which btw is unavailable), blah blah blah. And we wonder why there isn't more available for our cars.

As far as me, anybody that makes a rare, desireable part replica for my car, prices it reasonably, ships on time and has a good reputation in the community (dave has done all these things) then they have earned my business.

It's just shitty to me how everybody wants to talk about how much they wish XXX part were made, how quickly they'd buy one if it were, and then act like it isn't good enough when it actually comes out.

The skirts look nice to me and as I said before, the prices are RIGHT on. I was just pointing out that they aren't replicas of OEM pieces (which are way different and too plain IMHO) but just re-makes of their original fiberglass pieces in carbon fiber. I'd jump on these if I didn't already have nice skirts. Mine are almost identical just without the bumps (which look pretty cool). I got mine from an old parts supplier of mine years ago - they were from the '80s and the pieces weren't made anymore. I think they are Kamanaris...

I like em'

I'd consider throwing one of the 2 (probably FG for the cost) on my Bl/Bl S5 GTU.

Too bad they arn't lower in the front; I need some skirts to match my CS Type II Nose, but the Type II skirts are god awful.

They are side skirts, I'm sure you can either screw them into place, use body moulding etc...I wouldn't use only tape to hold them on, at least use a few screws from the bottom.

Original post's fiber parts appear a little warped/lumpy, and can the monkey that laid the fiber try to keep the grain steady?

It's definitly a small nitpick. I have the ORIGINAL C/F TII hood made by fc3s.org, and they had a hard time getting the grain to lay right comming off the TII scoop. Definitly an artform that requires experience & talent.

Let me throw in a few things to everyone.

First thanks for the constructive criticism. For those that just bitch, well just another reason I don't frequent here much anymore unless summoned by a regular.

The skirts aren't replicas, nor were they meant to be. They are off an FC in Japan, with no markings at all. We got them when they were shipped to the US, and made copies of them. I don't know who makes them, and it doesn't really matter to me. I liked them, so I made them with intent of having a set of CF skirts on my S5 TII. I am taking off my stock skirts (which will go on eBay so don't ask how much I will sell them for) and installing these. If you don't like them, don't buy them. If you do, grab a set of either fiberglass or CF and enjoy them if you so choose.

As for the fitment comments, those are just sitting on my car, not even mounted. That is how close they are from the start. They are not aligned, mounted, glued...nothing. Just resting on the car. I chose a white car for the demo so you can see the product. If I had put them on a black car, with crappy lighting like alot of peoples parts are shown, then I would have never heard the end of the wonderful comments here.

Anyway, that's all from me. If you have a direct questions, I would be happy to help answer it. PM or admin@fc3s.org

As for the lip, as soon as I get one, it will be copied. Until then...

Just bought a set of the FG skirts (sorry, too poor for CF). Hope UPS doesn't **** them up on their way here or I'm gonna be pissed!

Personally I agree with Kevin. They're a good product and I appreciate that somebody spent the time and effort to try to market them.

Now if I only had money to buy em...

Cool Sonic, let me now how you like them. Same with you ilike2eatricers. I like feedback to improve, change or retain design.

They fit both S4 and S5 the same, I tried them on both.

I'll have them test-fitted tonight, then they're getting painted sometime within the next couple of weeks. I'll definatly let you know how it all goes.

Would you consider making replicas of the stock skirts/lip? I have a set of skirts and a BRAND NEW lip that I bought a month or two ago.

I have just gotten back from my body shop and there were some issues. I am not sure if they are specific to my car or if anybody else will have these problems.

1)fitment was very very tight
2)since I have an s5 TII and took off the stock sideskirts (one side was damaged so I replaced both) the side moulding on the fender is attached to the stock sideskirt fender piece. That OEM sideskirt piece on the fender had to be removed and now has no side moulding there with the new sideskirt attached. Also the rear part of the OEM sideskirt has the moulding attached to the skirt itself (rear panel) and there is no side moulding there now either. I have replaced my PS fender with one from a GTU which has the moulding on the fender (no OEM sideskirt) so that side is fine.

I hope I am not the only one with this problem, but it seems like these sideskirts were made for those who did not have a s5 TII with aero package. Guess I am sorry out of luck unless I can find 3 pieces of moulding.

That does suck, but sadly, they were designed for S4 and S5, and since only 1 model of the two came with skirts that had the moulding built into them, I can understand why they did it this way. It shouldn't be too hard to get the 3 peices, just look for someone parting a s5 and most of the time you can snag them pretty cheap. I just got the rest of the molding I'll need for my car (s4 with s5 bumpers, these skirts, and s5 mouldings now)

Yea I didnt really think about it when I bought them, but it's ok because I just bought a set of OEM skirts used. I doubt I will be able to pick up those 3 small pieces of side moulding as people would be reluctant to break up a set.

Then whip out the whopping 50 bucks that you see complete molding sets go for.

God, guys. The sideskirts, the stock ones that is, (if mazda even still made them, which they DONT) would run you like 800 bucks for the pair. The FG ones, with paint, and the molding differences, will run you a max of about 500 bucks. We're lucky to even HAVE these available, much less cheaper than stock, and with fitment for both stock t2's and all others, I can't see a complaint.
