I want to double check if the fuel filter is installed correctly, but have no other reference. I looked at the Haynes manual and it doesn't show the pic I need. It just shows the fuel filter itself with the word "OUT" but it doesn't mean anything to me. for all I know it could be upside down.

it says on the side of the filter. it either has a arrow. which should be facing the engine. or the one you posted a pic of says IN on the top. so the IN part would be the fuel line coming from the tank

well you see, that's my problem. the Haynes manual says something like this but I still don't understand it (I'm definately not stupid). It looks like I have a 50/50 shot of putting it the right way. The "IN/OUT" label is meaningless to me.

How can you not get that? In means fuel in, so the line coming from the tank goes there. Out means to the engine.

no problem... yeah the pic shows it upside down..
the protrusions on the filter should also guide you to how it mounts on the bracket..

Do you live near any mechanics?

Btw, brunettes > blondes.

sweet thanks again guys.

I trust you guys more than the shady mechanics around me.
Blondes, brunettes, it's all good as long as they are fine and aren't too bitchy.
