permatex for water pump gasket

Has anyone ever used Permatex Right Stuff for their water pump gasket? I'm going to use it for the oil pan and thought perhaps I could there too.

I'm in the proccess if swapping an S4 block into my S5. I have no OMP, so no worries there. I already ground the UIM off my S5 to fit the S4 block as well.

Anything else I am missing? I know I have to use the S5 fuel rails too.

Sure.
I've used the black / blue / copper / red RTV stuff with good results.

Excellent! I'll go pick up a tube and forget waiting to order gaskets then.

Which would you suggest using if you had all the things beforehand: gasket, silicone, both?

I use the OEM gasket always 1st when available.
Use the Permacool rightstuff when the dealer isn't open.
Lastly, use any of the anaerobic sealers or gasket makers, if you can't afford the permacool.
I avoid store brand generic gaskets and no-name RTV's.

Some RTV's don't dry well or quickly enough. But, most of the name brand ones are idiot proof. Please read the directions. I've never had ANY problems using any RTV in place of a gasket. Clean surfaces and common sense are all that are needed!

If I had the option, I'd coat the paper gasket with silicone RTV and then install.
One good thing about doing this is that it allows you to reuse the gasket most of the time if you need to remove it.
