Or you could do the swap, and then decide that it wasn't worth it and go back to the light weight N/A... That you could have gotten simular performance gains (to what a basicly stock T2 has) with a mild street port, and intake and exhaust and other tuning.

It's not like fitting an H22A into an EG civic.

A turbo swap is ALOT more time consuming, and ALOT more parts have to be changed. If you're seriously considering it, you don't know what you're getting into, or if you do, you're crazier than I am.

So before another thread pops up about swaps, READ THIS. I have firsthand experience attempting a swap!!! The second i got a look at the car and all the **** that had to be swapped over, I almost fainted.

UNLESS You have unlimited labour resources (ie, you own/work in a shop), and you have a COMPLETE TII donor, STOP DREAMING AND GO BUY A T2!!!

This has been a public service announcement brought to you by Fingers Corporation.
You almost fainted b/c of your lack of knowledge in general....

"My idle is messed up, what do I do?"

That was uncalled for, and awfully close to flaming as well as getting this thread shut down.

A) You have a vert. like me so you have no other choice.

B) You find a wrecked TII and get the whole thing cheap.

C) You truly enjoy using up spare time and $$$.

Just my .02
Very well said. Anyways, its just my opinion, i don't care if anyone disagrees. There are millions more threads on how it's a straight bolt in -- well it is, but there's MUCH more that you have to bolt in than say -- a honda.

A thread pops up every week that asks how hard it is to do a swap. Well, as I stated, it's not that hard but it's ALOT of work. And unless you have plentiful resources, its not worth it.

Actually it was more or less after my mechanic gave me a rough idea of how much it will be But yes, I'm not claiming to be the most knowledgeable person about rotaries... but I do know SOME things.

As for my idle -- well, it's still facked up, and if the collective of the thousands of members can't figure it out, I sure as hell can't.

Alot of work? Not hardly. It's not NEARLY as hard or time consuming as you THINK it is.

I like this philosophy; either a TII swap or NA build-up will take work and money. A boosted rotary has more ultimate potential but less of the simple sweetnes that made such a splash in the sports car world back in the era of all NA RX-7s.
