People with aftermarket oil pres gauges (readings?)

After my stock oil pressure gauge started giving me funny readings on my '91 TII I bought an autometer pro comp ultra lite gauge.

This is on an atkins streetported engine. I am getting about 13psi at 750 rpm using 10w 30 at about 180F oil temp. Then at 3000 rpm I am getting about 64 PSi at the same temps.

What oil pressure readings do you guys get on your aftermarket gauges?

This seems low. It is a new engine and I am slightly fearing that the o ring in the front cover.

If the front cover o ring is blown you will not get 64 psig at 3K RPM. A blown o ring will limit max oil pressure to more like 35 psig.

I recently rebuilt my own engine and modified the eccentric shaft rotor cooling oil jets with a 2MM orfice and removal of the check ball and spring. This makes for a hot idling oil pressure of 15 to 20 psig and a max of around 80psig. This is OK, but if I had it to do over again I would keep the stock jet set up. I now know the mod is only necessary for racing engines, or perhaps for aircraft use.

that sounds like what is wrong with my current stock engine, it idles with about 18psi until it reaches full operating temp and it will drop down to about 7-8psi at idle, at 3000rpm i am getting somewhere between 35 and 40psi, oh well i have a blown side seal on the front rotor aswell, too bad, it goes and thats all that is important at the moment, its what you get when you salvage a motor than has been flipped at 75mph

Yea, me too. I did the weber jet mod too. same thing, but like 8-10psi at 1000rpm idle... and I get 60psi at 3k...its may be ok because its actually flowing better. keeping things cool and lubed, but need to upgrade pump and/or pressure regulators. I also run 20w-50?

I get 60 or so at higher RPMS, but I don't what its like at idle because my car idles at 1500 RPMs right now after it warms up. My guess based on lowering by slowing down in 5th gear is that it will be around 30 or so at idle, but I dunno.

At idle mine sits around 25-30 and 55-60 in upper rpms with around 180-200 degree oil temps.

Just noticed this thread is 6 years old. LoL..

other than that, 250 miles on rebuild getting 64psi at idle and see a solid 80 psi at rpms over 2.5k
