pedal to the metal...

anyone ever come across this issue in an 87 T2? just bought the car a couple weeks ago for $2500, accelerator pedal is a bit stiff, other than that the car runs great, any remedies to this problem? clueless to all things rotary, so any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Replace the throttle cable.
The heat from the turbocharger causes the coating to break down and become sticky on the passenger side of the car. Chances are, you'll see broken off chunks of the black coating if you examine the cable, and cracks everywhere along it.

I generally replace all the ones I see on cars with more than 100K miless.
