Hi,

I hav enot been on here for awhile now. I see many new names here.

Here is my situation: while driving normal (boosting only about 4-5psi max) this morning, I let off the gas and my engine just died. I can start it back up, but idles really sucks and the car wants to die out. I can make it stay alive by increasing the low throttle compensation on my AFC to 15% (vs. -5%). I really feels more like an air leak than a blown apex. I have been argueing w/ the wife yesterday because I fought hard to keep the car and recently did a SP rebuilt on it 6 months ago. Car is at the shop now and I will know the diagnosis later today.

I am comtemplating selling my car if the engine is blown. how much is my car worth? Here is a list of mod's to my car and the price I paid:

1. SP motor: may be worthless now...$3K
2. S-AFC (the one w/ the blue face)...$300
3. AVC-R (the one w/ the blue face)...$450
4. RP DP...$125
5. RP Mid Pipe...$60

Overall the car is in decent shape (small crack in the front bumper and small crack in left rear turn light) and representative for a 13 year old car. The color is red, if that makes a difference. It has typical FC problems (wiper switch for rear wiper is not working, front wiper only works on low speed, and Sunroof needs help in closing, etc). The body only has 97K and the questionable rebuilt engine is only 6 months olds w/ only 2K miles. Before the rebuilt (w/ engine at 95K miles), I made 275rwhp w/ the setup and ran 13.5 so I know this setup has potential. Here are my questions:

1. How much is my car worth w/ the blown engine? W/ jus the aftermarket stuffs, I can easily get $1500 by selling them separately. Then I can sell the car as is for money or donate it and get a tax deduction (should be able to get $1K-$2K tax break from donating). But it is easier to sell it as a package. How much is it worth entirely?
2. How much is it worth w/ a good engine? I figure i should be able to get $5K-$6K for this car w/ a good engine...Does this sound right?

Thanks, but I don't want this to be a FS thread...I am just trying to get information before deciding on the car's faith. Part the car. Donate the chassis if it doesn't sell.

Your not going to get what you paid in parts out of a chassis with a blown motor.

Well, I would say its still worth a good bit with all the mods, but it depends on overall condition of the car. Got any pics?

im just gonna say this... the most you can get for mods on the car is about 20cents to the dallor they are worth more off the car
