Painting choices, S4 look or S5 look?

Alright, im about to paint my car (trying it 88integraLS style) and i was wondering if you guys think i should paint the moldings/mirrors with the car, or keep them black. The car is factory white and ill keep it the same color because i personally hate it when the engine bay doesnt match and im not about to rip all that junk out again. Its an 86 Base with the non aero mirrors, no sunroof and no fancy body kit bumper anything like that, just all stock S4. Thanks.

I would go MONOCHROMANIC, but I have seen your car and you have a lot of work in front of you

Yeah defenetly the s5 look, its a lot cleaner. I plan to do the same when i repaint my car. Im going to go with like a Ferrari red and paint all the moldings and mirrors the same color. It makes the car look more like other cars on the road, that molding crap is too 80ish i think.

Yeah man, but thats all in the fun of it correct? Its not as bad as you would think, i put a new fender, door and an alum hood on there and the body is damn near perfect else where. Has some holes behind the rear hatch where a wing used to go, im going to spot weld some sheet metal under it and grind then body fill it smooth from there, so not too as much as it looks. Got a windsheild in it and im driving it daily now. Its already come along way since you seen it, haha. Im about to do the five lug swap on it this weekend i think.

Anyways, thanks for the input and all white is the way im going to go!

Instead of welding the holes up, use 2 part panel adhesive, just as stong, no corrosion issues and very quick

What is that? I have never heard of it before. Is it like a puddy or does it need a medium like fiber or plastic? Thanks.

If you paint it white your engine bay won't match anyway. The engine bay paint is probably dull, it is anyways with mine.

Also try and find some S5 TII mirrors or even a S4 TII mirrors. Also I vote for a 10th ani look

i personally like the look of the s4 moldings on my 86. once i get it running i am thinking about selling my 89 because i think the 86 is cooler even though it has primer spots, the blue paint with the black bars looks good. however i don't think they would look good on a white car, so paint the moldings.

I did my car a few weeks ago, I personaly would keep the mouldings black because you want something that stands out and break the lines.
A true FC is White
My car has got aero mirrors so i painted those white aswell.

Good luck on the paintjob

Click my sig for a picture of my car, I havent got a picture yet with the new original stickers on it but it will come sometime after the weekend

Id keep the mouldings and mirrors black myself. I think it helps give a little contrast to the car and breaks it up a little.
