painted tail lights
well i just recieved a video of my car when one of the previous owners had it. it seems that he painted the rear tail lights to match his car. no he didnt paint the lenses, only the black part. man it looks cool. so if i wanted to do this, i would have to get a whole new paintjob and have them paint the black part right? or in my case, the white part. if anyone wants to see the vid, let me know ill send it to them.

Yeah I've been looking to do this as well, I'm wondering what it will involve. Will the paint stick to a plastic surface like that? IF you coudl send me the vid that would be great.
My car is an SE though, so it has that black body strip and black side view mirrors. Not sure if it'll look good.

how yo do...
get a new pair of lights
rough the black part up a little bit with sandpaper, make em smooth,
then get that stuff that makes paint stick,
spray that stuff on, let it dry and then add 1 coat-dry-2coat-dry-3coat
how ever many coats you need until its perfectly yellow.
i don;t know if this is right, i would need a second opinion as it is very early in the morning right now, and im kinda high/

My car used to have body color tailights until I got it painted, then I went back to black. I just masked off the lenses, and got some black paint and sprayed away. The hardest part about doing it the other way around would be matching your current paint.

Mine was painted at the sametime as the car was. Just mask off the lens areas, scuff up the black areas, and paint. I prefer this look to the 89-91 tail lights.

Painted taillights
I just painted my car also, and painted the hatchback and taillights silver body color, Now that it`s done, I think that I will paint the taillights back to a dark metallic gray, I think I liked the breakup of colors better, Oh well to each his own!!!!!
The trick thing that I did though was to cut out the grill {87 N/T} I looks soooo bad!!!!!!!!! Blacked it out in behind, and put in some driving lights. Lights maybe too big!!!
Well if I was a little more comp literate I`d post picks for you to see!!! Everything that I do , the picks just too big!!!!!!!
