Oxygen Sensor??
My '88 TII is running rich, could it possibly be that (a year ago) I had an exhaust put on the car that eliminated the cat and o2 sensors? If so, do I need a whole new exhaust or can I just modify what I have?

Wouldn't an SAFC-II do the trick? Also what about adjusting your throttle and what not. Air Filters?
Now for my ignorance, I didn't think there was an O2-sensor on the exhuast, just the air-pump hose to make the mixture of your exhuast not as potent, thus passing emissions.

the o2 sensor is mainly used at cruise but will affect it being rich. you could always have a o2 bung welded into your current downpipe. you should also have a check engine light if you don thave an o2 cause it will trigger it when it needs to go to closed loop to save on MPG. and i dotn belive you would be able to tune it witha safc to make it run right.

How you you know it's running rich? When is it running rich?
The O2 sensor is only used when travelling at a constant speed and low load. Reinstalling one will only help in those conditions.
