i finally got around to pulling up my carpet to check some wiring at the ECU.
I was pretty surprised to find this:

 

maybe it had wet carpet before...

 

That blue thing on the left is far more interesting than the plastic bag...

 

Do you have any idea what that is?

lol I didn't notice it until I made the picture big.

 

Follow the wires...it looks like an AFM-style plug..which is..odd...

 

Air bag wiring.

 

So far, i've come to the conclusion that that "blue thing" is from an auto S5 vert. I had 2 auto S5 verts and both had these wires. Big blue clips, and blue wire loom. The wires also ran above the passenger side wheel well cover.

 

well it just happens to be an s5 auto vert
i don't plan on keeping it that way, though...
