wow 3500 for a supra turbo with mods, sheesh, those run like $12k (canadian) up here.

Is the GTUs turbo? if not i'd say you'd be better with the supra but that's just me.

Well, he said the GTUs had stock motor and ****, so it's probably still NA.

For what it's worth man, you seem like you've invested a lot in your Supra, I'd stick with the Supra. Chances are the motor in the 7 will need to be rebuilt in 2-3 years, and if that happens you may as well turbo it... but then you'll wind up needing the turbo drivetrain and all sensors and blah blah blah... PITA to convert an NA RX-7 to a Turbo... I'm in the middle of it.

Either way, nice Supra. And read the FAQ at the top of the page. There's links to "What should I look for when buying an RX-7?" and **** like that.

Nice supra, $3500 seems a bit low you should be able to sell it for more man, also note, rx-7s are a little bit smaller than MKIII's and the rotary motors are testy so just keep that in mind, and test drive the car first

sounds like a Turbo engine swap into the GTUs. It's not as rare or "awesome" as some people might like you all to believe...it's an NA, with an NA motor, old turbo suspension and brakes and no sunroof. Other than that it's just like any other NA. The turbo swap one is a tad cooler because you're not as slow as an NA but always be very careful when buying a pre-modified turbo car. You never know the condition of the internals. check out the FAQs on how to buy an FC for a thorough description on what to check.

my 7 looks like crap and isn't legal...I have turn signal issues...wiring/electronics boggles my mind...

hwy 100 is a fun cruise...its too bad they have cracked down on it pretty hard...

You should check out the Midwest Forum...there is a thread in there...about getting together on fridays in Brookfield

Anyways...if you do go look at the car, tell me how it goes cuz I saw it while I was still tire kicking, was always interested

All you need to know is in the FAQ. Specifically, the how-to-buy guides.

I would say go for it as well... The GTUs I believe came with the 4.33 final drive gear which increases accelleration, but decreases top speed... still its a nice ride. othere than the GTUs the only other cars with the 4.33 final drive gear are directly from Japan. I thought about trading my RX7 for a supra, but I couldnt bring myself to do it. Once you get a rex you will be hooked for life... so be prepared.

Flowmaster is not compatible with rotary engines, and will need to be replaced.

Unless the car is in a very expensive zip code or those are Canadian dollars, $4100 would be the KBB value for Good condition, not Fair. However, the car does appear to be in Good condition, so $4100 is about right if the car is in good mechanical condition.

You could install a smaller diameter aftermarket steering wheel, or you could buy a different trim level RX-7 that comes with a tilt steering wheel. I'm not sure if it would be practical to buy that car and convert to a tilt steering wheel with junk yard parts, but I guess that would also be an option.

Just about everything you need to know is in the FAQ.

buy the GTUs before you get rod knock in your 7M. I swear I thrash the **** out of both of my rotaries, including inadvertantly overheating and detonating them, and they still run way better than my piece of **** 7M did in my Mk III which spun a bearing. Why do you think so many people do the 1JZ swap?

Buy the rotary because it's actually less of a timebomb... but be prepared for way less torque and power.

oh...YOU have the T70, I thought the GTUs was a turbo swap with a T70. I wouldn't pay more than $3000(in perfect shape and receipts for all maintenance) for an NA (GTUs or BASE).

I know that NOW, but i still don't think it's worth it. I paid $2500 for MY GTUs in awesome shape. If you pay more than 3K you're wasting your money. You're going from a turbo supra ( 300? 400HP? ) to an NA FC with 120whp. Doesn't seem like a good trade off. If you're a boost freak (like many of us) then you'll be sorely dissappointed with the NA. Wait for the right deal and buy a TII.

Please post more pics of your supra. It's not My favorite car from Toyota but I'd love to see more of it. what power is it putting down?

I'm not sure what you are asking but....I have owned a 1jz and 7m mk3 supra. The rx7 turbo is a diffrent car all together, the supra is more of a comfortable GT car. The rx7 is more of a track car. It is lighter, handles better, brakes better and drives more like a race car. I love the body lines of both of the cars but the rx7 is holding my interest currently! The cars are great, you will not be dissapointed.
