Overheating issue

So apparently I have a overheating problem. I was driving my car pretty hard to redline. And then the loud buzz sound came on and saw my temp gauge was rising. So I pulled over to the side of the road and I saw a some white smoke coming out of the hood. I popped open the hood and saw that most of the coolant was concentrated near the oil filter. I was just reading Aaroncake website about overheating and what not. So can I assume that the problem here is the heater hose? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like the heater hose for sure. Replace it and use new t-bolt style clamps.

That happened to me twice, i'd make sure you dont have an oil leak that's making your hose swell up after you replace it. ;] cheap and easy to fix.

all i did was sliced around the ends with a razor blade so i didnt mess anything else up trying to pull it off and then take off the clamps and replace the clamps and those. I don't know how else to explain it.

Thats great and thanks for the reply but I do need to know what it is I need to be concerned with (ie. where to locate the heater hose).

haha. well theres two. mine was the upper heater hose which comes from the back of the heater core to the side of the engine block by the sparkplugs...ish and it's pretty twisted. it'll probably look swollen and if not by the sounds of it you blew it up. so, you should see a huge hole or it loose. hah. goodluck ;]! oh yeah and it's black. haha

FSM in the FAQ or Haynes manual should tell you where the hose is. To replace, procedure is in same manuals. Before you start you'll want a new hose ofcourse, screw on hose clamps to replace the old spring clamps, locking pliers (aka vise grips) to remove the old spring clamp and maybe a knife if the old hose is really stuck on the other end (just don't scratch the metal or it might not seal as well).
