Overheating 7

first off my car is GTUs,no mods.91k on the motor.heres my problem and some questions.i let my little brother drive my 7 for a few days,so here it goes...... let my little brother drive my 7 while im in the hospital and the add coolant light came on. so he added some coolant and it was still on. so he turned it off and let to cool down for a while.then he tried to turn it on after like 20 min and it took a few cranks to turn on.then he inspected the car and heater hose blew. (the one that goes from the firewall to the engine block).
now he cut the same hose and re-connected it and filled it up with coolant and its still takes a few cranks to start, and when it cranks it blows like white smoke outta the exhaust. him and my older brother got it to start and it when it did it kept on blowing white smoke and the temp gauge was at normal, after like 5 min he said the temp gauge started climb to H on the gauge.after that th car has not been touched, any idea on what it could be?thanks for looking and any advice in welcomed thanks

Could be something simple OR something big, sounds like it was overheated for one and you know how much our rotaries hate being overheated. I would check the basics as far as colling system in the car and i would also get a compression check cause you might never know if your coolant seals is gone and the chambers are getting coolant in them causing the smoke.

your little bro was an *** and drove it for a while with the buzzer going and water light on. now you're going to need a rebuild or pray to the rotary gods that kwik-way irontite ceramic seal will fix your problem.

so depending on a compression test my motor might be blown?its not really his fault,he doesnt know much about cars.i was thinking about a swapping it out with a s5 turbo engine.but thanks for the input.i have a few queions, should i check my plugs for moisture residue or water?would the coolant show on the oil dipstick?

Walken-just a quick question, what does this mean "kwik-way irontite ceramic seal will fix your problem."
what is that?

kwik-way is a block seal. and you need a coolant pressure test not a compression test.

i did a compression check on my 7 today.i heard the swoooshes from both rotors.when i took out my plugs they had a small oil scent.when i started the car white smoke came out of the exhaust, but after a while running, the smoke went away.i kept checking my temp gauge and it was still running at normal temp with the water hose and constant water going into the radiator.....but one thing that did worry me was the water spitting out of the radiator while the car was running. and also while the car was running, the top radiator hose had ZERO pressure and i would pinch it easily. Also after i had my car on for about 10-15 min i tunred it off for about five min and it was very hard to start. So now my question to you gurus is, is the outcome still a blown coolant seal? and if i do put that kwik-way irontite thing, what are the probablities it would work? ive had a very bad week starting with a car accident that totaled my car and i dont think i can afford a rebuild right now. Thanks in advanced.

water was comming out the radiator when the engine is running??
Was the water hot at all?

if the water comming out of the radfiator is cold, and with the engine running, then sorry man, its a symptom of a blown coolant seal.

When you felt the pressure of the hose, you capped back the radiator right?
if you did, normally, the pressure from the blown coolant seal would pressurize the cooling system. if you had the cap on and there was no pressure, then it might not be a blown coolant seal at all, and could be something else.

Id never trust any coolant quick fix, they most of the time, clog up your radiator if its the original one since it wouldve build up more gunk in it anyway.

if it does work, it will probably hold on for a week or so, its a bandaid fix at most.

If you coolant seal is really blown, I dont think the sealant will help, theyre usually are for the headgaskets in piston engines which are partial metal.

After letting your engine warm up, does your heater blow warm? If it doesn't you have an air lock in your water pump. I'd just check that next time you're messin' with it.

You have a blown coolant seal... sorry man.

I think you should fart in your little bros face at least once daily for quite some time.

The bubbles, steam and smoke are the symptoms that are a dead giveaway.

Some people have used a "cheap fix that worked well.

imma go ahead and try that alumaseal.some guy that owns a rotary shop here in town told me to give it a try.so i dont think it will hurt.its gonna need a rebuild,so i might as well try it.Another question kinda off the subject, does any one know how to check the compression on a engine that has been pulled out,in other words the engine pulled out of a car?

Thank you everyone for the input.
