Overheating?

Overheating?
This car is for sale and it says it runs but overheats.......? what is a good price i should offer to him and what could be the problem? hopefully not a rebuild... http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...r=&cardist=114

odds are...the motor needs a rebuild.... look at the facts....new water pump and t-stat, and it still overheats??? plus the car has 178k miles on it! REBUILD!! but i could be wrong, ive seen rx7s overheat because of a radiator cap!! but i would offer the guy no more than $500 for it! its only an SE....

your engine condition shouldn't have anything to do with inspection.... Most inspections are checking for things like Brakes/lights/body condition/etc. As long as you can drive the car there, it shouldn't be a problem... I don't know where langley park is, though, so your milage (and state) may vary.
