Overheat EXH System..? why would it turn on.?
alright well i was driving down the freeway last night and my Overheat EXH system turned on.. at first i thought it was telling me my car was overheating.. so i turned my car off and coated to the side of the road.. let it cool down relized it was for ymy exhaust system and calmed down .. lol, so i let it sit for like 20 minutes. then started it up again. light was still on so i said **** it i need to get home i left and got home the light was still on.. went out this morning and light is STILL on.. why would this go on out of the middle of know where and not turn off..?

The mystery of the prize.
probably someting wrong with the sensor or wiring, becuase if it was still on when you went back out to the car in the morning it's not a valid overheating exhaust situation.
BTW, the sensor is under the passenger seat, under the carpet...

Honestly I'm not sure if it sinks to ground to turn on the light or opens it, so I can't answer on wether disconnecting or not will affect the light.
Also, it's quite possible the sensor is working fine and instead you have a cold solder problem with the idiot lights.
It's an old car, there are alot of possibiities.
Thanks for the compliments, I like my R1 too

no from what i understand it is a heat sensor that sends a signal when the metal of the car gets to hot. ( ie. if the cat gets pluged and heats up the bottom of the car. )
