Twice. Thats the amount of times I have see it come up. Both were when I had the stock exhaust.

I think thats what its there for. When the cat cloggs it comes on because of the excess heat.

I've had it come on during a 145mph run, and come on in really hot weather sitting in the bottle shop drive through with the air con on. Both times it went off as soon as I drove normally...

I've never had it come on.

What triggers it to come on, anyway? Is there some thermoswitch hiding under there that I've never noticed?

EDIT: nevermind, I found it in the FSM like a good little boy.

I was thinking about relocating my Exhaust overtemp sensor to near the turbo after I loose the cats.

I would use it as a reminder to cool down before shut down.

I've had it flash several times.
I was test - driving the car before I bought it, we were at work, and I only had 15 min. break to test it out. and it was 90f outside. Only time the light came on was when I pushed it past 8k several times.
Apparently the exhaust gets too hot, and damages the cats. (like I care. no emmision testing here..)
