Angry Overfilled the oil, now smokey Joe...

Due to a malfunctioning Oil Level sensor, and my extreme lazyness.... I overfilled the oil by about 1 1/2 quarts. Now it appears that the car smokes on startup and also when I rev it up... The engine did not smoke at all before I put too much oil in.. I have yet to empty it out. Could this cause smoking? The oil is at a level about 2 inches over the full mark on the dipstick... I need a little reasurance so I can sleep tonight.

I wonder though, from where would the oil be escaping into the housing... Could it possibly be so full that it is all the way up to the passages and is just constantly seeping past the seals? I am going to drain out a quart and a half and see if it stops the smoke... Weird thing is, I have driven the car about 500 miles since the motor went in (came out of a wrecked 7 in great running condition and low miles) and the oil is still honey colored and appears new...

It's being sucked into the purge system. Been there, done that.
