do you constanly have to fill the rad???
does your exhaust smell sweet??
you could have a housing seal thats leaking coolant into you engine..
do a coolant pressure test, if it holds pressure i have no idea, if it leaks pressure find the leak, if the leak is not visual you might need a rebuild.

my exhaust doesnt smell sweet....i dont have to keep filling the radiator up. I think ill look into doing that test and try to find a leak. my radiator still has the plastic belly and its the original thermostat. i dont know how old the water pump is ( i bought the car about a year ago.....and i havent changed it so who knows?)
how does a coolent presure test work? and if it does leak....what needs to be rebuilt? the whole engine?

Nah, don't worry about an engine rebuild unless she's eating the coolant...
Original thermostat? Man, replace that sucker first. It's cheap, easy to get to, and just may solve all of your problems

Ahh, OK...You've checked the rad, t-stat, cooling fan, and the water pump doesn't leak...Although that doesn't mean that the impellers aren't corroded to nothingness, which would cause overheating.
Did this happen all of a sudden, or did the overheating take time to progress?
And what are you calling "overheating"? Steam gushing out after a ride, high indication on the gauge? Engine glowing red?

overheatin
well it kinda just started happing in like a weeks time....... the temp gauge is showing like three quarters of the way (i shut it off b4 it gets to high) and when i shut it off the coolent is boiling and the engine smells real hott. the thermostat is in correct cus i can tell when it opens up. so maybe its just that the propellars inside the water pump are coroded.

well the water pump wasnt the problem.... it was the electric fan...it wasnt pulling hard enough...so i knew i had to put a stock clutch fan back in. so i took my broken one and bent the peice of metal outwards. So now the fan is always on, robbing my hp, but hey its doesnt overheat
