Its in the stickies at the top of the forum https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/fd-alternator-kits-fitted-fcs-now-sell%2Alast-date-purchase-sept-1-%2A-397719/
Its probably the best way to go since its tried and tested and should be the most problem free solution.

FD or a new S5 alt... pretty much your only choices unless you want to go with a custom alt.

FD Alt. w/ Mazdatrix Strut Bar + Engine Torque Brace

Will this work? I thought I read somewhere that there is a clearance issue with this combination. (I think it was MazdaTrix, it's the white one that's about $220)

I posted a link to this In my thread as well. I'm not sure If this bar was covered but with all the other common Strut Bars available there Is no clearance Issues.

I hope this helps.

Like stated, FD is your best bet unless you get a custom built one. I had one built for my old SUV that had some crazy audio setup, wasn't really that expensive actually if you send yours in as a core. They were able to rebuild it to the specs I desired, pretty simple, but you'll be without an alt for a while if you send yours in as a core.

Yea, FD seems the way to go. Hopefully after a few more paychecks Ill be able to save up enough to get one. Cant wait to be able to put up both windows at once and not strain the car.

Umm, yes.

I provide all the hardware making this a complete kit. All that Is needed on your part Is a nut, bolt, washer combo to pass through the ear of the FD Alternator and Tension Bracket. It Isn't threaded whereas all FC's are.

Oh man, I remember those days. When I used to do this I'd actually hear my Idle lose about a hundred rpms until I let go of the switch.

Stronger electrical system. Headlights wont dim, easier to roll down windows, add extre electrical accesories. A stronger electrical system will also give you a better running engine.

Thanks for the link silverroter. I was reading the thread and I couldn't find what exactly the clearance issue would be for my instance, if there was one. Is the alternator too wide, tall, long or mounted wierd? What is the dimension and placement difference between an S4 and a FD?
