They make great products, as a matter of fact, Cusco clutches are made by OS Giken. They are a large co. for performance clutches in Japan and I beleive they manufacter a lot of OEM equipment. 750 for a twin plate and a light flywheel is a good price...pretty avg. for a high performance clutch and flywheel combo for this car I think. I went with centerforce DF and RB aluminum which is 11 LBs I think. Is the flywheel aluminum, chrome moly or light steel?

Be warned...if this thing is used, it's most likely off a J-spec - they got it free.  If it's your friend, they are asking way too much for it.
Yes, the clutch is over $1,000 new, but you should ask them where they got it from.  I find this practice (selling it overprice off a J-spec) pretty horrific, especially from a "friend".
There are several models of OS Giken twin-disc clutch systems.  I think the FC3S has 3 different models, so it's hard to tell you which one you got.  Does it have holes on the outside edge?  That's the lightest version.

I agree with Ted, ask where it came from. Check to see what kind of wear it has, I'm not sure how easy or expensive it is to replace parts from one of those.
I have seen one in person, it's a pretty interesting design, massive clamping power that's for sure.

I have a OS Giken in my FC, I have had it for a few years now, bought it used for 450 dollars. That is real cheap normal price for one with life in it is about 600. I would try to bargain him down to like 500 dollars.
There are several models that Giken makes as they have changed the way they make them now (new models) in the old ones like mine they have A B C D types. The D type is the heaviest Pressure plate, I think 1100KG, That is usually for Drag racing.
I am not sure of the new models that Giken makes and Im sure that you have the older one also. If you look at the clutch cover there should be a letter stamped into it on the gold cover portion A B C or D that will give more insight to what it is.
As far as weight of the unit I am not sure, all twin and tripple plate systems(Giken) have lightened and thinner flywheels to make up for the size of the disk assembly. It will wiegh less than the stock setup but prolly wont be as light as a regular clutch with light flywheel.
small note Giken Clutches are loud, they jingle when the pedal is depressed, I personally love that **** it is a warning to the ******* next to ya that you have power or you would not have bought a expensive clutch, but I know a lot fo you guys hate loud **** and want your car to look stock as possible. The newer design clutches are not as noisy.
If you would like some information in Japanese about them I could dig the stuff out of my bookshelf and mabye post it. Hopefully I still have it.
