Well for the brighter "white light" you want a bulb temp color or 4200K or higher.
Ideally sunlight is around 6500 kelvin color temp, but I have yet to see anyone with a bulb that bright.
There are a couple of cheaper bulbs that claim "white light" but are actually just conventional bulbs coated with a blue tint. This blue tint will actually lower the output lighting (even though the change will make it seem like it is brighter).
A true 100 watt HO xenon bulb will draw 7 to 8 amps of current (per bulb) when the engine is at idle. So you might want to test the draw and see if they really are HO Xenon bulbs.
I have tested a couple brands and the only ones so far that really are HO (80 watts or more) Xenon bulbs are the PIAA and Biolight brands.
Of course you would want to make sure that your cars electrical system can handle a doubling of the current that the head lamps use as well. Old corroded or bad connectors on these new bulbs will cause a bad connection, poor lumination, or a fire.
So I'd say buyer beware.

I was also looking into a headlight upgrade and found some items on ebay - I settled on this set:

But after reading this post I'm not so sure I want them... I'm probably going to get some catz msx's and keep my lights down - Has anyone actually purchased any type of replacement for the oem flip lights? I have bed vision at night too... or maybe it's just philly?

Well you can always get the housings (although I prefer the hella 7x6 myself, but I am old school), and put what ever bulb you want into the housing.
I would stick with the DOT approved housings no matter what brand you decide on though.
I have found the BioLight H4 bulbs on Ebay for around $20, in the past so you might look around more. They are the one that is "Super white Xenon" and are actually made in Korea.
Also If you really want to upgrade your lighting Dave at FC3S.org has a great write up on true HID lighting and comparing it to just bulb replacement.
