Opinions on 5th/6th port sleeve removal

I'm wondering is I should remove the 5th/6th port sleeves on my S4 N/A. My car was modified when I got it, and not in a good way. The stock system for activating ports 5 and 6 (the little tube from the cat) has been removed by the previous owner. So my ports aren't going to be activating at all unless I change something. I did a search on the topic, and it looks like the options are to leave it and deal without the ports, or to remove the sleeves and lose low end torque, or apparently there's a way of using an aftermarket air pump (though this may be for S5s only?).

So what would be the effects of leaving the sleeves in vs taking them out? (i.e. approximately how much HP and torque?) Also, how would this effect emissions? This car is essentially going to be a dedicated track car, but right now I don't have a tow vehicle so I have to make it street legal to drive to the track.

well, the air pump/bleed valve would work if you still had the actuators for the ports. If you dont, then you could either remove them or try to find some sort of actuator (pneumatic, electronic, something) that could be rigged to go off above 3800 rpm

Sleeves in = more torque (bottom end power).
Sleeves out = more hp (top end power).
Working correctly = more both.

If it's a daily driver and you can't get the ports working, keep them in/closed. I would suggest getting them working though.

by far the easiest thing to do is wire them open or just remove them.

Quit trying to think someone’s 5 minutes of removing an engineered part will make there car faster. Make them work properly.

Removing them is ignorance. Just clean them and use a device to make them work correctly.

The ports in the sleeves are bigger then the ports on the inside of the housing. Removing the will NOT give you MORE top end. It will give you the SAME top end as if they were working and you will loose bottom end.

My point is that they aren't working at all, so I can open them and deal with bottom end loss and gain back stock top end, or I can close them and lose top end but retain low end torque. So since this car is going to be my track beater, I think top end might be more useful.

Have you seen this yet?

Why not get them working instead of settling for a trade-off?

on a street driven daily driver its pointless unless there broke and you cant fix it for some reason.

Thank you. I couldn't find a link on exactly how it was fixed. I'm going to try to get my car running first, then I'll give this a shot.
