Opening window without a switch.

I have an S5 parts car with a good driver window and harness, but I don't have any switches. Does someone know what wires I can jumper in the harness to get it to roll down so I can remove it? Thanks.

Dont bother with the harness. Just pull the door panel. The wires for the window are a two wire plug. Just make some jumper wires to plug into the socket. touch one wire to 12v and other to neg on you batt. Just a quick tap. If the motor doesnt' go down then reverse the wires and it will go down then. Works like a champ

Oh and you have a pm

It's a reverse polarity motor you need to jumper 4 points.

It's (down):
B/R to G/B
B to R/B

(Up):
B to G/B
B/R to R/B

That is at the switch. To the motor is only a Green and Red wire. Simple +/- exercise.

Forgive my lack of electrical knowledge...

So basically, to replace the power window switch with two momentary push-button switches, say, from Radio Shack...is to harness those wires to the switches? Wow that sounded more uniform in my head...

You might want to ask Icemark about this, he does this as a service, and may (or not) be able to tell you if that will work

Don't you love it when things work that easy?
