Only clicks when turn key...
The battery is fully charged everything is connected and right, but when i turn the ignition all i get is a *click* and nothin. Im assuming its the starter....any other ideas? Thanks
i dont know if this will solve youre problem but yesterday everytime i started the car it would do that and i would have to bang on the battery contacts and move stuff around until it would start. it was just that those two bolts holdling the battery cables in place were loose and alot of corrrosion on the contacts. try using a wire brush and clean them up. starts like a charm now

If you see corrosion on the batt wires or on the wires at the starter, then clean them and try again. If you don't see any corrosion then pull the starter and get it tested. It is suprisingly easy to do. I can do it in about 5 minutes. All there is is a nut (holding power wire to starter solenoid) and 2 bolts holding on the starter. Just make sure you remember where everything goes and its very simple.

mine did it today, I just replaced my engine. I found out that the main huge power cable that went to the starter broke off right before it goes into the connector. Now I gata swap out that whole battery harness... args

what does your volt meter say? take the starter, alternator, and battery into an auto parts store and have it tested. its free. a starter will run you about $70-$80 with core trade.

One more quick thing to do: Hook up the jumper cables. Start the other car then try to start yours. This will make sure that you really do have power. I've had batteries that wouldn't hold a charge at all.
banging the starter is used to shock the starter into working, kind of like what they do to peoples hearts...however....if it is the starter and you do do that...under most circumstances after banging it, that will be your last start...(or second to last...arg you get what im saying)

anyway. if the starter is in that rough of shape then its loose connections inside the starter. thats exactly how mine was. took it in and tested it. they said it was drawing double the power its supposed to due to an internal short. that caused my volt guage to drop from 12.5v down to about 10v instantly.
LOL are all of ya'll serious? Listen mine was doing the same thing. After you have checked the battery (Because dead cells wont charge) crawl under the car and look at the wired connections on the starter itself. There is a little spade connector that loves to continue vibrating off due to old age. Ensure that this connector had not come undone otherwise you will not be able to crank.
Get a DMM and check to see if you have voltage at the fuse box when you try to start it.
Do your lights majorly dim/turn off when you take the key to the "Start" position?
When mine clicked it was merely bad battery terminal connectors.

i had the same problem when i first did my swap it just clicked thought it was starter so i replaced it wasnt starter as it turns out i had a bad ground on battery added a 4 gauge wire post to chassis and it fixd it.
yeah if your car doesn't start and you bang on the starter and it starts.......that means that the starter is bad. it might work for a while but the question is now how long before it ***** up again. i still suggest replacing it.
yeah but altealst ill be able to dirve the bitch til the new one comes in...had a big date really needed her to start lol and yes i did take her over the wrx, i dont think its weird i like my 7 more than my wrx...
