It's gotta be versatile. However, the drift part is most important. With either car I would end up getting a Tein suspension package. The type RA http://www.teinusa.com/ This car has also got to sort of a beater. I'm looking for a car with potnetial for under $5000
. I know it's asking alot, but price is the main concern. I just got a job and I don't want to spend every penny on a car or getting a broke *** car to work. I't rather buy a car that will run and is RELIABLE and then put in the cash to make it great. Did anybody think of an AE86? (Corolla GTS) Cheap, good drifter, FR, anybody had any experience?

SUPERB drift car...but I don't know anything about the reliability. S13's on the other hand have incredible reliability. I have a buddy on the 240sx forum and here(1bad180sx) and his car has been running FOREVER. He drags alot and we've gone at it a lot when I had my FC and now my FD. Plus they're great drift cars. If you can get a 240sx for about a grand or less, then drop a sr20det redtop into it...go for it. Should cost less than 5000 grand.

I thought the coolest guy was Takumi who drove the AE86?

Are you cool enough to...
Date a girl who was whoring herself out to some rich old guy?
Drive around mountain roads with a paper cup of water?
Arch an eyebrow when the car feels different when racing?
Don't miss a beat when driving in a friend's AE85 1.6l, carb'd, SOHC vehicle versus your AE86 1.6l, EFI, DOHC vehicle?
Be able to scare the bejeezus out of your friend and make him faint after 3 turns?

I hate working on the car; if I was given one for free, I wouldn't take it.&nbsp I would prefer not to work on them myself.

I kind of have to agree and disagree with you on the FD being a bitch to work on. When the car is in stock form...I'm not touching it. But once it has gone to single turbo, it's not that bad.

Either way, both my FC's were WAY easier to work on than my FD

Yeah, bone stock FD is a royal pain - the vacuum lines is 90% of the headache.&nbsp That upgrade Mazdaspeed PPF has been discontinued, so you're stuck with stock OEM replacements if you break it.&nbsp The Torsen rear diff is a bit too delicated for abusive (1/4-mile drag) runs.&nbsp The pull-type clutch can't handle that much torque over a conventional push-type clutch system.&nbsp Cooling is a big problem, and the stock radiator and IC is a bad design, IMO; if I had one, I'd almost automatically go GReddy FMIC and a larger rad mounted in an upright position.&nbsp I don't physically fit in an FD anyways (6'1", 250#), so I don't even bother trying to sit in one...
Sorry for the long rant...

HAHAH that rox BUT!!!! you all know Bunta is the coolest character from initial D. I want to see Bunta vs Takumi

back to the topic, I'd do the sr20det swap. One of my friends is a NISSAN god who did a 2+2 Z32 TT conversion in his driveway.

If you need something that MUST (i.e. can't be down for more than a day or two) be a DD, go for the 240SX. My best friend has over 200k hard miles on his KA and it still starts every morning without complaint. I try to pass off my TII as a DD, but it still has its share of downtime. Also if you are driving the car 60+ miles a day, consider the gas costs. KA powered S13s get 25mpg or so on regular, while I'm lucky to get 20 with my lightly modded TII with premium.

That said, I think my TII is loads more fun to drive, slightly stickier, and much faster (though the comparison to the NA KA is unfair).

Why would u ask that question here, our answer is obviously bias.
lemme quote something that have said here before:
"f u really want a 7 u dont need our suggestions. If you have any doubts i suggest getting something else because the 7 is a fragile car and if you have doubts about getting one when something breaks ull just get frustrated with your choice." If u want it then get it!

Im for the TII
I think the old supra is kinda weak
240sx has a weak engine a 140hp on a 2.4L unless it has an SR20DET swap than u mite consider but over da 7 rocks!

If you need reliability, then get a 240sx. I'd still get the FC just because it is bad azz and would smoke a sr20 with the same mods. A supra is too fat an heavy.

I love how someone necroposts and then the conversation just carries on. Am I the only one who checks the dates first?

Enough Said!

TII RX-7!

Its like having a

You would look like a driving a 240

And driving a supra you would always be

On a side note... I have a friend who has a 240 with the SR-20 conversion... I can still beat him in my semi-stock TII! Semi-stock = intake- K & N. Nothing major for me to blow him away! Good luck!
