one-wire sensor in oil pan?

s4 T2

I just installed the oil pan on my new motor and I noticed that whatever one-wire connector/sensor thing is in there is about to have the wire break off. I can't get a pic right now, but it is NOT the big one which looks like this:

what is pictured there is for the low oil light, correct? What is the other sensor down there and should I order a replacement?

I think it's for the cold start assist. From what i've read. It's so the ecu knows when the oil is warmed up. But that's what I think I have it on my car also But s5 non turbo. It's not even hooked up. Doesn't do anything.

But on my other engine, it doesn't have it on the oil pan... But someone correct me if i'm wrong.

It's for the Sub Zero system. It's a temp Switch. Does nothing at all. No one uses the Sub Zero system.

See the Fuel and Emissions section of the FSM and the attached wiring diagram.

that explains why it wasn't in a lot of the diagrams, since mazda recommended the removal of the system. i'll just cut the wire and leave it in there as a plug.

It also makes for a great spot for an aftermarket gauge.

In the picture above, yes, but that's not the sensor in question.
