one to one gear

im sick of searching with no results.

i need to know which gear is the one to noe (ie. in my 1st gen, 5th gear matches with the speed as follows: 2k rpm = 40mph, 3k = 60, 4k = 80 etc.)

i believe my speedo is off, but i dont know how much.

remember that tire size and wheel size are going to influence that as well.

Yes, the 4th gear is 1:1, but you're wrong if you don't think the wheel (i.e. tire size) isn't going to influence the speedo readout.

Think about this...
(Numbers are not real world.)
If the wheel has a rolling circumference of 100 inches, for every rotation of the rear wheel, it's going to go 100 inches.
If the wheel has a rolling circumference of 50 inches (HALF of the above), for every rotation of the rear wheel, it has only gone HALF the distance versus the above example.
The trans still thinks both cars went the same distance - one rotation of the rear wheel.
The rear diff still thinks both cars went the same distance - one rotation of the rear wheel.
This is the reason why you need to keep tire diameters (thus, tire circumferences) similar to stock; once you start to change this significantly, you get speedo error.

I feel stupid, I totally missed that it was in regard to speedo calibration. Ignore my last post.
I was thinking he meant that the ratio would change with different wheel size.

Another reason to never post.
