One less problem fixed !
Went over to a forum user's house tonight... see if he could figure out why my car was hestiating (sp) so much - and why my car was over heating. We didn't get the chance to figure out about the overheating, but did on the hestiating problem.
My TPS was/is bad. Thanks to Aaron Cake with some information about it, that has been fixed. Got a new TPS from billy (his forum user name and real name) and it fixed right then and there !
I'm happy to atleast get one problem out of the way.
Now.. all I need to do is get the heating problem fixed, and she's back to normal.
Thought I would share my happiness tonight

Wouldn't that be one more problem fixed, not one less.
When my TPS went bad, it really went bad. The top speed of my car was around 15 mph, so when I got the new one, I think it was my best performance mod ever!

Yeah, unique - I was lucky.. it would hestitate badly between 4k-5500rpm. Drove me berzerk.
Less.. more.. whatever. I was too tired last night to really think
twint - which forums?

Were is the Trottle Position Sensor on a 87 TII? Do I need a Throttle Position Adjuster Tool to remedy a TPS problem? I haven't had a chance to check my Haynes manuel yet. I've been searching this site and found some very useful info, Thanks.
Simon
p.s. I guess I'm going to need more than my hammer and screwdriver to work on my ride

Actually, for the TPS you don't even need the hammer. You'll find lots of stuff if you do a search. Just make up your own TPS tester, plug it in, and adjust according to the manual.

Well, I just learned how to adjust my TPS by the helps of Billy and Aaron Cake. Even though you use the search - it is broken down very small, and some of the things you look for.. doesnt really explain it too well. Don't get me wrong, the search helps out quiet abit, just somethings specifically you're looking for just isn't there.
So... when someone asks, they might have already done it, but need more information. My $.02.
And... twint - Yes.. I do. Not often... but who are you?

Sure no problem.
I could drive the car just fine - I was able to go higher than 5500rpm in first gear, as soon as I went into 2nd and went higher than 4k-5500rpm it would bog down, make a bopping type noise, and hestiate really bad. That went on throughout 2-4 gears. Sometimes it would happen other times the car felt fine.
But between 4k-5500rpm -there was a heavily set hestiation where I could not get the car up to speed without keeping it at low RPMs.
What extactly is yours doing?
