Were did your oil metering lines go??? Who broke them off, I would suggest either buying new ones ($100 for a set) Or blocking of the OMP and running premix, and kinda fast to, because your not doing your engine anygood running it like that.

here's a third pic

now, this is how i bought the car so i'm not sure if the guy before me blocked them off or what. this is my 1st rx7 so i'm definitely not sure what the OMP is supposed to look like.

i have driven the car without premixing for 7k miles so i dont think it's blocked off though..

ASAP go to your closest store that has 2 stroke oil. Buy anything that has TCW-3 on it. Pre-mix for now and get us some better pix. I mean what is this an FD that **** is all over the place.(I'm used to my bare block )

Do you have any pix from the top of the car? All of these are from the bottom. I could probably see better from the top unless it is more clutered than from below

NO one on this site can tell just where the oil is coming from. It's most likely the mop, but just where WE cannot tell. YOU can tell, by cleaning it off thoroughly then idling the car and observing. It's possible it's just a leaking line going to the oil injectors. Only you can tell.

The pump is working because your not getting a code nor is the car running in the *limp* mode (you'd a said something).

You can see that the line is broken off, and there is nowere for the oil to go other than onto his engine and catch pan.

so anyway i'm also chasing a phantom coolant leak

i'm losing coolant, but now that i've got the car up finally, i can't find the leak. idled it and everything... maybe its only when the car is inclined one way?

but that makes no sense because if the system was pressurized then it would be coming out.. i drove 30 miles to get home and it dropped considerably in that time

so im really confused to say the least

Ok I think someone fucked up before and put in some other kind of hoses because they look different than what I have seen before. Keep the pix comming if you have more. I see at least two of the MOP lines attatched. so atleast one rotor got oil if some of them are broken. Can you try and clean the area off to give me a better view of the lines and the pump itself?

ok, there **are** 4 oil lines coming off the OMP. two have black shrouding over them, and the other two are the clear lines (with nice looking new oil :-) )

it's hard to get a good pic of it, but they're all there

ok then just wipe the area clean and check for a leak when you start the car.

red are the clears

blue arrows mark the shrouded ones

now... any ideas on where this phantom coolant leak is?

here are the situations:

start car, drive it cold a mile and parked on incline - notice small river when i come outta store

fill coolant, drive home 30 miles, it's low again when i make it back

fill coolant this morning, let car sit..nothing happens... idle car, nothing leaks...[

all the coolant lines i can see are dry

it is very damp at the bottom of the rad where the endtanks are. the fuzz they put on there was soaked where the piping goes into the endtank. i took the fuzz off to see if i could get a better look but i cant find where its coming from

Well on my old radiator I had two tinne tiny cracks on the top and that was cuasing it to warm up to about 2/3 guage so something like that could mess with your head for a while. With the stock radiator you need to check the end tanks since they are plastic and may break or crack. Have you checked inside the cabin. by the heater core?

You know about the overflow tank in front? How there is a tube at the top of it that hangs in front of the radiator? Is it possible that the tank is overflowing and spitting on the front of the radiator and it dribbles to the ground?? But the overflow tank would have to be full for this to happen. And only when the engine has been started and run. Check to see if the overflow tank is too full. And if it is too full.......why is it too full? BAd radiator cap????? BAd water seal in the engine???? BAd bad???

Well, this is gona sound pretty mean, because it will mean an engine rebuild it it is what I am thinking. But I think since you can't see or find it, that it is one of the freeze out plugs that is behind the flywheel.

hasn't overheated yet. i dont have my water temp gauge in yet so i'm leery of the stock readings, though.

the leak is definitely towards the front of the car. i've all but ruled out the cooling lines back at the engine.

gonna take it down and get it pressure tested I guess. that's probably the quickest way anyway.
