okay somethings wrong obviously

okay i was driving my 88 N/A and nothing was out of the ordinary, my engine was warmed up and all, so anyways i was stopped and did a burn out in reverse and then also the sudden my car dies after it jerks back. so i thought maybe my rotors dropped, ran a compression test and they seem fine. 8.5:1 so yeah.

so into the details of what happens, i can start it up but i idles ruffly for like a couple seconds, then will die, i have to keep giving it gas or it will die. and when i punch the gas the rpms drop, and when i let off it raises again, im not to sure what the problem is, and it seems like it runs rich,i have a hardcore smell of fuel. i think that one of my coil packs when out but im not to sure. any suggestions or tips to check for things?

Sounds like the typical "You broke yo **** bro..." Story. Burning out is a strenuous act on the car, you may have unplugged something or just plain broke the **** out of your engine. Check the air sensor on your intake hose, see if its unplugged. Judging by the "rich" smell you're smelling, I'd guess that it would have something to do with the fuel/air systems. I dont know, i'm not an expert, just trying to give leads on where to look.

lol yeah thats a badass saying man. yeah thats what i figured too. i was thinking one of my coil packs went out, and i checked alot of the sensors, but also what i noticed was that one of my ground wires from the engine to the engine bay broke so im gonna fic that, and test the coil packs

what kind of "i dont believe you when you say you checked compression" tester do you own. They give you 3 puffs of air in the 100psi or so range. Not the ever so bullshitfull 8.5 to 1 reading. Pull your plugs and check for spark if you think the packs are out.

possible problems

like stated before check you coil packs..check fire on both rotors and last pull your lower plugs check for coolant and or oil..if coolant or oil are present you have problems..compression correct as well 3 puffs at psi not ratios...

last vibration under extreme load could have pulled something lose so check connectors fuel tank area ect...

Check the fuel pump, the factory pumps dont take stress well at this age. Check your vacumm lines, maybe one popped off.

Might be loose injector plug...maybe?

I "sort-of" had your symptoms a while back except mine got worse from there on. It turned out one of my primary injector plugs came loose but not completely off it would go on and off because it was barely making a connection...check for fuel.

Recheck your compression, if the gauge actually read 8.5 psi your engine is toast.

well when i did the compression test it was a bit lower that the 8:5.1, the engine should be good it only has 17k from pineapple with the routine maitnance kept up to date, i found a ground wire from the engine to the chassis broke off, so im going to reconnect a new once and search for leaks, but the first thing i did was look for a loose connection on the injectors because that happened before.
