ok..so, i want to do a turbo swap in my 89vert so help me out
i need help.. please tell me all the parts needed to make this happen. i need more horse power in my vert.. and turbo swap is the best way to go for now. im looking for about 300-350 hp..
Engine, throttle cable, boost sensor, ecu, fuel pump, harness, downpipe for the bare minimum. Then should probably swap the Turbo drivetrain in as the n/a one won't hold up for long. Includes: clutch, starter, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and cv axles.

Wow this forum has changed a lot.. During it's hayday someone would have been burned to a crisp by now for asking a question like that.. What happened to responses like-
1) Search button is at the top of the page.. (followed by a link)
2) What will you need to complete a turbo swap?? "I don't know, everything that makes a turbo car a turbo!"
3) DIAF
4) What made you randomly pull out a HP number?? 300-350?? Sure lets do that... Why not..
5) Turbo swap needs: Blinker fluid, muffler bearings, head gasket...........
These folks have it easy......

I came in to see if I could actually help someone who might be missing that last peice to the puzzle.. Not hand a quarter to a hobo.
To me it seem like the blind leading the blind..People regurgitating info they heard.. There was a day when people helped people who were respectful enough to help themselves.. People who would exhaust all thier efforts in research and then ask a question.. But, people justwant info handed to them...

.. ur funny ... but the reason i started this thread was to see what people had to say about this . i wanted as many thoughts as i could get about what i specifically wanted to do. i researched many different swap options; s4's, s5's and hybrids , wire harnesses, some say i can keep the n/a trans and others say u'd have to swap the whole drive train or some say go for the 6 port turbo option and with so many strong opinions ,its hard to know which way to go. so i started my thread with the hopes that someone with knowledge would help instead of pissing about why i stared a new thread. thanx tho bud..
oh btw ,that hobo comment was witty. i liked it lol
For a first time swap (if you haven't done it before) I would recommend doing a STOCK swap. Basically a swap that you will not need to tune to get it to run correctly. I have swapped in a turbo engines on N/A transmisisons before, but the success of that will be in the miles on your transmission and your clutch must be new. The advantage to using the stock N/A tranmission is that you don't have to go to the time and expense of replacing the rear end/driveshaft..
If you get comfortable with the car on a stock engine setup, drive it a while on the stock T2 harness and ecu you can work through the bugs of TURBO FC ownership a lot easier. Then complicate your life later with adding a stand alone or piggyback that will need to be tuned.
My $.02.. I have owned 29 of these cars now.. And have only had 2 that I ran off alternate ECU configurations (Wolf 3d ect..) For conservative HP numbers you can do quite a bit on a stock ECU/harness setup by adding an SAFC2..
Good luck with your build..
