so i just bought a 86 n/a thats been sitting for years, and im trying to get it started. i was told it was started 6 months ago for the last time. anti freeze and oil are fresh, car get spark, and gets fuel. after trying to start for a while i took the plugs out and let it turn over. reinstalled the plugs and still it just turns over but no start, tried push starting, but still nothing, i even used starter fluid, it cranks for a second then dies out and wont start till i spray more fluid.. drawing a blank everything is orriginal and very much mint. but i dont know what else i can do

 

when you pulled the plugs were they pretty wet with fuel? also, you didn't mention new plugs so how do they look in general?

 

yea they were wet, the plugs look fine they are alittle black but look good

 

Pull the plugs back out.
Pull the EGI fuse on the Fuse block in the engine bay.
Clean the plugs or get new plugs.
Roll the engine about 10 seconds.(with no plugs in the car).Put about a 1/2 ounce or Oil OR ATF(auto Trans fluid) in the spark plug holes(lower holes).
Roll over engine about 3 seconds( without Plugs)
Put Plugs Back in.
Put EGI Fuse Back in.
Start the car,,and IT will SMOKE ..but it should by Right Start up!.(smoke will disappear once the oil is burned out of the engine housings).

 

figured it out, swapped the fuel pump outta the vert, and she fired right up thx guys
